VISITORS AND GUESTS
PAST RUNS
There was one run this past month. The trip was to Jawbone. The pictures Joe posted made those of us whos missed it wish we had been able to make it. Those who hadn't attended were properly chastized during the meeting for having missed out too. A double whammy. Those that didn't make it also finally found out the true story about what happened on that trip. The highlights were a great campsite, a fun trail, and nice weather. But plenty of other excitement was also experienced on the trip. Warren had some fun in the notch and got hung up but drove out with a little road construction. Chris' blue fullsize Jeep had an unfortunate engine failure that required a truck rental to get their trailer home, and this was made worse by returning to the truck the next day to find the window broken out, the hood open, and the truck empty including the radio. Another example of bad people making a situation worse. Mean People Stink! When Joe got home, he found his house to be in a different condition than when he left, turns out the ceiling in his master bedroom collapsed over the weekend due to a water leak in a pipe, and the bed was covered in plaster, insulation, and lots of water. With all this happening in one weekend, maybe Addie and I are glad we stayed home and had rather uneventful weekends. Even then, I look forward to getting to see Jawbone as it looks like a great area, in spite of the possible curse. FUTURE RUNS
October 25th. El Mirage area, Fearless Folly in the morning (maybe start at ~8). Look for a note from our fearless leader for the day, Warren. If we behave ourselves and can convince him that school work is not his priority, we might get to play on the lake too. FUTURE ACTIVITIES
NEW BUSINESS One other major topic was discussed at the end of the meeting. We voted to move the meeting time to the second Wednesday of the month because of some scheduling conflicts. This was firsted, seconded, thirded, and passed, with only one objection, possibly in spite of the group or as a rebellion to try to encourage more trail ride participation in the future. Hard to say why for sure. Regardless, the motion passed, so please adjust your calendars to plan to join us at Coco's November 12th, and the second Wednesday each month after for more fun and merriment for our new monthly meeting time. MISC COMMENTS AND DISCUSSIONS
We missed seeing a few regulars at the meeting, George was celebrating a birthday. Hope it was a good one George! We hope he comes back and doesn't sell his Jeep after his most recent excursion. We haven't seen Steven in a few meetings. We are starting to worry Addie scared him off. Steven's dad didn't make it either. Hopefully we see them again soon. Also, we have been missing out on seeing the cool flat fender, hopefully all the fame and fortune from the MASH reunion didn't put him out of our league. |
