We started out on the 25th of September to try out a new trail.  The Bad Lands Corridor Trail #109 is located about 27 miles from I-5 at Frazier Park.  We met at Dennys for breakfast and then started up into the hills heading toward the fun.  John Buell who knows the trail well had offered to lead us for which I am grateful.  It is always a time saver when at least one person knows where you are going.  The trail starts not far off the pavement and heads up a wide wash.  This part is easy and not much challenge.  About a mile or so up the wash we made a right turn into a smaller wash and found some nice rock gardens.  They were moderately challenging and they had bypasses for the stock type rigs so everyone could go through.  After getting through the small wash we hit a fire road that we took to a campground where we had lunch.  After lunch we dropped back into the original wash heading back towards the start.  We found some of the best rock gardens of the run in this section, again with bypasses so everyone could get through.

This trip I broke out my cowbell.  The club hasn't used one in several years and I thought it time to get back to the basics.  For those that don't remember (or have never seen it), when you get stuck and need help getting underway again the cowbell gets hung on your front or back tow hooks.  It then clangs loudly along the trail till the next person gets stuck and you can pass it off.  It may be as soon as the next person through the same spot or you may be stuck with it for the rest of the trail.  Evil Grin.  We had 15 rigs with a large group of passengers, adults and children making it a real family run.  I hope everyone had a fun time and those that didn't go, where were you?
