Return to Run Report List
We ran our Adopt-A-Trail, White Mountain 3N-17 along with Wright Mine
Trail, and 3N-11, yesterday May 1st. The only Maintenance needed was a lot
of tree chopping. We trimmed back overhanging branches along the trail in
many places. A large "widow maker" tree was across the trail on
3N-11 we had to take out. On 3N-17 below Mud Hill a large tree had blocked
the trail and a bypass had been made. We cut 12 foot length from across
the road and dragged it into place to block the bypass. Leading the run
was Adelaide with her daughter Adelaide, George Olinger with his friend
Brad, Roy, Steve Bass, My Granddaughter Lexi, and myself. It was a
beautiful day on the mountain with warm breezes and lots of sun. With such
a small club turn out we need to question if we want to keep the
adopt-a-trail or give it up to a club that wants to work to keep it open.
It was a lot of work yesterday but with a good turnout it would have been
a lazy day for all instead of a big job for the few that showed up! I will
be bringing it up at the meeting Wednesday for a vote.
